This time, Ford Motor Company was a bit of a failure.
On March 25, a Ford Leading owner complained on the vehicle quality assurance website that the gearbox needs to be maintained after 300 km of Jiangling Ford’s Leading models. At the same time, if the accelerator was pressed to the end and the car didn’t move, the automatic start and stop sometimes didn’t work. When the sports mode was turned on, it would be automatically closed by the car.
GPLP found that the above problems are not unique in Ford’s Leading models. Since December 2019, there have been more than 50 complaints about Ford Leading on the vehicle quality website alone. Among them, most of the complaints focused on the startand stop of the vehicle due to the battery shortage, various faults in the engine and gearbox, etc.
According to the analysis of problems existing in Ford’s Leading models, problems in gearbox may cause accidents such as vehicle shaking and jerking during driving, which may lead to runaway risks such as unable to accelerate or shift gears. In addition, if the vehicle fails to start and stop in the process of driving, it is also easy for passengers to fall into danger.
Generally speaking, the problems existing in the Ford Leading have hidden dangers that affect the driving safety of drivers and passengers. But from the overall sales data of Ford Leading in December to now, the failure rate is not small.
However, according to most car owners’ feedback, so far, the manufacturer of Ford Leading—Jiangling Ford, has neither given a reasonable solution to the problems existing in its products, nor issued any public statement on this matter.
Industry insiders said that the failure rate has a certain negative correlation with the production capacity and quality control capacity of the vehicle, and the attitude of the main engine factory after the failure also affects the market’s recognition of the brand to a certain extent. Therefore, most of the defects of Ford’s Leading models and the silent handling attitude of Jiangling Ford may have a certain impact on the sales volume of Ford Leading.
China is the main market of Jiangling Ford, and Jiangling has accumulated a certain popularity in the market in recent years. However, in order to further stabilize the positionof enterprises in the Chinese market, product quality and service attitude need to be improved.
