Mercedes-Benz recalls 11,166 imported cars in three months

February has not been passed, Mercedes-Benz has made another recall.

Recently, Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile Sales Co. , Ltd. , in accordance with the requirements of the “regulations on the administration of defective automobile product recall” and the “measures for the implementation of the regulations on the administration of Defective Automobile Product Recall” , the company filed a recall plan with the State Administration of market supervision and administration, involving total of 11,166 vehicles.

GPLP understands that the recall covers a wide range of imported C, E, G, CLS, GLC SUV and AMG GT cars, and they are manufactured between June 2,2018 and October 31,2018.

Mercedes-Benz said that some of the vehicles covered by the recall may not meet the requirements of the front seat belt locking, the correct fastening of the seat belt will be wrongly detected as not fastened. There will be a warning in the combination instrument, the vehicle will be started immediately sound warning, it has possibility of seat belt failure, there is a security risk.

Mercedes-Benz (China) Automotive Sales Co. , Ltd. will be within the scope of the recall of vehicles free of charge to check the front seat belt lock, if necessary to replace, and eliminate safety hazards.

It is worth mentioning that this is the third recall for Mercedes-Benz in 2020, the first two recalls of 545 GLB SUV manufactured between 24 June 2019 and 21 November 2019, and E-CLASS, CLS models manufactured between 2015 and 2019.

As a result, the work of Mercedes-Benz may need a good self-reflection. To this, GPLP sought information from Mercedes-Benz respect, but they did not reply.

Is the quality of individual vehicles, or design problems, or the integrated exposure of the current Mercedes-Benz manufacturing process, there is a defect.

It is admirable that Mercedes has taken such an active part in dealing with the problems, but it would also like to avoid those problem as much as possible.
